This year’s Tour de Trenton date, Sunday October 20th, was a perfect day for a bike ride. Or at least that is what 70 intrepid souls (15 day-of-registrants!) thought as they faced wind, a temperature of 53⁰F and lots of rain. By all accounts all had a good time.

As in the past, the participants rode or strode a variety of pedal powered devices: recumbents, autobikes, e-bikes, tall bikes, tag-alongs, beach cruisers, 3-speeds, ellipticals, spiffy road bikes, hybrids and yard sale finds.

Covering all wards, this year’s tour was themed “Trenton Makes” and took riders past the sites of Trenton’s manufacturing powerhouses, present and historical alike.

Our ride was funded by these generous local sponsors: Terracycle, Trenton Council of Civic Associations (TCCA), Bonnie Watson Coleman, Content Trenton, Ideal Image, New Jersey Community Capital, New Jersey Manufacturer, Basecamp, Champs, Elvin Montero, Jay Watson, Powtek Frank Martucci, Ray & Kelly Ingram, Segal LaBate Realty, Trenton Makes, Willard Stanback, East Trenton Collaborative, and Tri-State Transportation Campaign.

Their support allows us to offset the cost of permits, insurance and keep the ride affordable for all. We are also able to provide an escort by the Trenton Police Department who did a stellar job in escorting, blocking and sweeping.

Thank-you to all that made this great event possible & to those who braved the weather to ride!!
