If you made it to one of our bike light giveaway events this week, you probably saw a few of the above signs welcoming you before our volunteers got to making your before dawn/after dusk rides a whole lot safer (and legal.)

With that in mind, we wanted to give a shout-out to the artist who painted, and donated, those signs: Dan Murphy, of Germantown.

An avid bicyclist, Murphy is a self-taught visual artist whose focus knows basically no bounds. He’s been involved with graffiti, photography, film, music, animation and a ton of creative stuff that’s been on display all over the country — from Philly to San Francisco.
