Bicycle Coalition

A year ago, The Bicycle Coalition launched a pilot program where six participants from different organizations were trained to talk about different cultures in the world of cycling and to expand the safe and healthy practice for cycling in communities in South Philadelphia.

The program was effective. More than 122 people were involved in various series of classes and tours. This is how our Equipando Familias en Bicicleta Program started in the Southwark school.

Equipando Familias is a program funded by PECO that helps assist low income families, in a “rent-to-buy” mode bicycle tools, to travel with their children in a safe and fun way. Through the program we give classes of education about the world of urban cycling, empowering communities to travel by bicycle with their children in their neighborhoods.

This month of June we are going to have two family friendly bike rides, where the families of the Equipando program will be able to use their equipment and they will be able to strengthen their skills traveling around the city.

Join Bicycle Coalition on this family amazing bike rides:

Monday June 18 – Southwark School 1835 S 9th ST from 10AM – 12PM

Monday June 25 – 11th and Washington 10AM – 12PM
