New funding for the Circuit! Funding is currently available for all phases of trail development through the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC)’s Regional Trails Grant Program, which is supported by the William Penn Foundation. DVRPC has released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) that details all eligibility criteria and requirements for obtaining funding and is accepting applications to the Regional Trails Program. Up to $3 million in private funds are available to the region for trail planning, design and construction. In addition, up to $4 million in federal Transportation Alternative Set-Aside funds may be available for the construction of projects in southeastern Pennsylvania that are awarded design funds through Phase VII of the Regional Trails Program. Eligible applicants are local governments, state agencies, development corporations and nonprofit organizations to plan, design, and construct multi-use Circuit trails.
