The Delaware Valley Bicycle Club (DVBC) held their 2016 Annual Member Meeting and Dinner Party at DiFabio’s in Media on November 14th. DVBC has been a long time supporter of the Bicycle Coalition and we were grateful to have the opportunity to talk about bicycle issues in Delaware County.

My presentation to the attendees included an overview of the Circuit Trails in Delaware County and talked about the soon to be opened Chester Creek Trail in Middletown. I also talked about our campaign to put bike lanes on suburban roads which helped lead to PennDOT’s pilot project to stripe bike lanes PA 320 between Swarthmore and Springfield.

A special thanks goes out to Chuck Cruit. Chuck is the former chair person for Bike Delaware County and is now moving on to new endeavors. We look forward to working with the Rich Abraham, the new advocacy chair for DVBC and Bike Delaware County’s new chair Tabb Sullivan on bicycle issues in Delaware County.

Stay tuned for the announcement of this blog for the next Bike Delaware County meeting in early 2017.
