An exciting new trail segment is opening up! Today’s the ribbon cutting for the Frankford & Tacony Creek Trail. The ribbon cutting will be at 1pm today at 4299 N Delaware Ave. Stop by to join trail advocates around the region to dedicate the newest segment of The Circuit Trails!
This new trail will connect the East Coast Greenway to Frankford for the first time. The East Coast Greenway is the nation’s longest connected biking and walking route. Philly currently contributes 58 miles to the East Coast Greenway, the exact trails of which are pictured here. The current trails on the East Coast Greenway primarily concentrate around downtown Philly.
The Frankford and Tacony Creek Trail will make a great addition to northeast Philly spots for cyclists along the Greenway. Moreover, the Frankford-Tacony Trail is located just underneath Pennypack Park (#2 on the map), which together would make an enjoyable nature loop.
The Frankford-Tacony Trail will add to The Circuit Trail’s goal of a 750-mile sprawling urban trail network in Greater Philadelphia.
This ribbon cutting is hosted by The Circuit Trails, the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford (TTF) Watershed Partnership, and the East Coast Greenway Alliance.
