The Third Annual Bikes and Beers Event — a Philly tradition at this point, though first birthed in San Diego — is an event that brings together two of life’s greatest pleasures.
Benefitting the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, the Bikes and Beers event begins and ends at Yards Brewery on Delaware Avenue in Northern Liberties. The ride stops at a halfway point for water, food, and bathrooms, then goes back to Yards Brewery for two free pints of beer from B&B sponsor Yards Brewery.
The ride from Yards Brewery, into Center City, Fairmount, and West Philadelphia, has generally been a 15 mile pleasure ride. This year, though, Bikes and Beers has decided to take it a step farther. Instead of a single 15-mile ride, there will be two rides: The 15 miler, and a 30 miler, the latter of which will go into West Fairmount Park, and as far as Roxborough, then back to Yards Brewery.
The 30-mile ride begins at 9:00am, and the 15-miler begins at 10:30. Both rides will meet back at Yards Brewery for an after-party at which point all riders will get two free beers.

People who join the ride will get two free beers from Yards, an official Philly Bikes and Beers pint glass, and get to watch a live band, play games, and enter a raffle at the after-party. There is a discount for teams of five or more.
If history is any indication, the events will likely sell out early.
When the ride returns to Yards, will the Eagles game be on?
