The Eighth Annual Cranksgiving is this Saturday, November 10, at noon.
Begun in New York City in 1999, Cranksgiving’s purpose is to collect food in order to provide a Thanksgiving meal to families who wouldn’t normally get one. Riders travel to various grocery stores to purchase food items and rack up points. There’s no registration fee, and all food purchased will be donated to Philabundance.
Since 2011, Cranksgiving riders have collected nearly 11,000 lbs of food, and close to $15,000 in monetary donations to directly benefit Philabundance. Tattooed Mom will once again match all donations, $1 per pound of food brought in by riders.
Here’s what to bring:
A bicycle, a helmet, something to carry your groceries, a lock, and your awesome charitable attitude.
Cyclists will meet at Penn Treaty Park at 11am.
