We had an awesome turnout for Bike To Work Day 2017, meeting and giving some refreshments and swag to thousands of cyclists, and leading a ride of about 150 people from the Penn Museum in West Philadelphia to Dilworth Park for our Bike Phriendly Business Awards.
Bike To Work Day is a national event held in cities and towns across the United States, celebrating those people who use a bicycle as their main means to get to work, school, or their errands; and to encourage those interested but concerned about bicycling to give it a try.
This year, we had more sponsors than ever before, giving out more stuff than ever before.
Cyclists were greeted at Penn Museum, 13th and Pine, and the Schuylkill River Trail with flowers, bike lights, coffee, and snacks.
Those who RSVP’d for BTWD were entered into a contest to win a new Giant bicycle—and the winner is Michael Martino!
Now, please enjoy these photos taken by Lora Reehling Photography from May 19.
Thanks to everyone who came out, and to Philadelphia’s greater cycling community. See you out there.
