Spring has sprung at the Bicycle Coalition’s two Neighborhood Bike Hubs

Check out ways to participate in Neighborhood Bike Hub programming during the 2024 season.  We have opportunities for kids and adults to learn to ride, to ride in a group, or for adults to ride independently.

Bartram’s Garden Bike Hub
For 2024, The Bike Hub at Bartram’s Garden is open Saturdays from May 11th through October 26th, and offers free bike rentals and learn to ride classes for kids and adults as well as beginner group rides.  Building on the success of last year, we hope to support over 300 people to ride in Bartram’s Garden this year.

For young kids, 2-8 who are learning to ride, we have balance bikes (no pedals) and each week we set up an exciting course on the trail to engage our youngest riders.  The skill of balancing is the foundation for learning to ride.  Bring your little ones out to try the course!

Or bring a friend or your family to rent a bike for free and check out the beautiful trails at Bartram’s Garden.

Lil’ Philly Safety Village
The Lil’ Philly Safety Village, located in Hunting Park, is a space for kids and adults alike to practice biking, rolling and walking in a colorful, playful area completely free of motor vehicle traffic. The miniature bike lanes, crosswalks, stop signs and other traffic markers help Lil’ Philly Safety Villagers learn to move through urban street space. From there, they can test their new skills on the sidewalks (for kids 12 and under) and street loops of the surrounding park.

The Bike Hub at the Lil’ Philly Safety Village is open anytime Hunting Park is open- bring your own bike to ride and play anytime.
