As we told you before Thanksgiving, Mayor-Elect Jim Kenney is holding town hall meetings all this week. Last night was the first, at Central High School on Olney Avenue. And if you didn’t make it, you’ve got the rest of the week to catch up with the future mayor of Philadelphia.

Last night’s Philadelphia Neighborhood Town Hall was well-populated by citizens interested in creating safer streets and better infrastructure for Philadelphia. And that was clear based upon the first question asked.

Kenney’s answer?

Vision Zero is a priority.

We’re thankful the Mayor-Elect is holding these town halls all week, and getting a better understanding of the issues facing Philadelphians from many city neighborhoods.

We urge you to go to tonight’s town hall meeting, at South Philadelphia High School. The RSVP is available at this link.

Town Halls

Next week, the Kenney team is holding five town halls to hear from the public about their ideas for the new administration.

Be Heard

We encourage interested persons to attend and make your voice heard to support Mayor-elect Kenney’s campaign commitments, and to raise additional recommendations.

  • Enhance accessibility to public transit
  • Ensure access to bike share
  • Build 25 miles of Circuit Trails
  • Improve the walkability of streets and sidewalks
  • Enliven Philadelphia’s streets by creating an open streets program
  • Manage on-street parking for efficient and effective use
