The Pennsylvania Department of Health recently announced the seventh round of funding in its WalkWorks grant program, which seeks to provide grants to local governments to support their Active Transportation Plans, supporting those who walk, bike, take public transportation and use wheelchairs.
WalkWorks will hold a webinar on April 6th and accept questions until May 12th. Registration for the webinar can be accessed here. Applications are due on May 26th, and the awardees will be notified on September 1st. Those interested should contact their local representatives in order to show support for the funding opportunity and learn how to participate in the planning and application process.
Previous awardees include Oxford Borough in Chester County, the City of Reading in Berks County, Royersford Borough and the Montgomery County Planning Commission in Montgomery County, and Quakertown Alive! in Bucks County.
