Take a day this weekend to relax, learn and beat the heat along Cobbs Creek. Join us this Saturday at the Cobbs Creek Environmental Center for a day of outdoor activities by the trails that connect us to nature.
Event details to plan your visit are below.
Rain or shine, the Rediscover Cobbs Creek summer celebration will take place from 9AM to 2PM with activities scheduled through out the day. Sponsors for the event include The Circuit Trails, Rails to Trails Conservancy and WDAS 105.3 FM at 700 Cobbs Creek Parkway featuring group activities, music, giveaways, free water ice and more!
Event Schedule:
- 9AM – Trail walk hosted by We Walk PHL, Fairmount Park Conservancy & GirlTrek
- 10AM – Birding walk with a UC Green Arborist
- Binoculars will be provided by the Cobbs Environmental Center and Blanche A. Nixon/Cobbs Creek Library
- 10AM – Archery will be held at the Cobbs Environmental Center
- 11AM to 1PM – Cool down with music from 105.3 FM and free water ice from The Circuit Trails
Be sure to stop by our table to say hi and to learn about what we’ve been up to improve bike safety in the region, including the Cobbs Creek area. Our friends over at Neighborhood Bike Works will be there with us to provide basic bike maintenance & inspection as well as repair instructions to keep you safe along the way.
Also, don’t forget to stop by the Clean Air Council, Darby Creek Valley Association and the Heinz Wildlife Refuge tables to learn about the great work their doing for the city and surrounding counties throughout the busy schedule of activities.
