Growing up in New Jersey, Sophia really first encountered bicycle culture in the United Kingdom. While studying at the University of St Andrews, her friends encouraged her to use cycling as a way to explore the Scottish seaside.
Since then, she has become a strong environmental advocate and leader of the 2018 March for the Ocean in London, believing in the power of bicycles and other personal lifestyle decisions to positively affect our climate future.
As a published poet and editor, Sophia loves storytelling and she is excited to get to know the stories and goals of cyclists in the greater Philadelphia region.
Previously, Sophia worked in educational publishing and ocean conservation. In addition to her Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, she also holds an MS in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. She can’t wait to get to know the Philadelphia bicycle community and learn more about the sport here in our local area.
