Hello, I’m Lana Harshaw, and I am absolutely thrilled to step into my role as Program Director at Bicycle Coalition Youth Cycling. My journey as an advocate for BIPOC in underrepresented spaces, working in team environments, and leadership development has been shaped by my experience as a former Division I collegiate athlete (women’s basketball), as well as many of my personal and professional endeavors. I’ve explored many entrepreneurial and social ventures, driven by an unyielding spirit to help people grow through all of life’s learning experiences.
What truly ignites my enthusiasm is the opportunity to align my purpose to helping our youth develop, and using cycling as the vehicle to grow leadership skills and healthy habits. I’m so appreciative of the enhancement cycling has offered me, and I am grateful to engage with and be part of the transformative journey many of our BCYC youth participants will experience!
Beyond work, I am an avid cyclist and crit racer (SOAR Foundation Racing), self proclaimed “snack champ,” enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, and am open to all of the new experiences life brings! I’m excited to work with the team, our youth coaches, and support staff to channel our collective passion of cycling and leadership development into meaningful change for our youth, community, and beyond!
