Hi! My name is Rebecca Fisher and I am the new Women Bike PHL intern.
I am a Philly native and junior at Haverford College majoring in Romance languages and concentrating in Peace, Justice and Human Rights.
I just took a year off from Haverford and spent the year living and working in Portland, Oregon with the bike community there.
I love biking as a mode of transit because it’s an entirely new way to explore a city, even a city you’re very familiar with. Plus it’s healthy and fun. I’m very excited to be working with Women Bike PHL and I look forward to running into some of you!
My first duty of my internship was to do the raffle draw.
As part of funding my internship, the Bicycle Coalition and Di Bruno Brothers put together a special raffle contest: any donation of $10 or more toward my internship included a chance to win a $125 gift certificate and a one hour private shopping experience at the Rittenhouse Square location with ‘the godfather of the cheese cave,’ and third generation owner at Di Bruno Brothers Emilio Mignucci, Women Bike PHL Founder Katie Monroe, and me.
And the winner is … Keyleigh Kern!
Thanks Kayleigh and all who participated in the fundraiser! Kayleigh, please email womenbikephl@bicyclecoalition.org for information on your prize!
