The Tow Path along the Schuylkill River, between Lock Street and Shawmont Avenue is closed due to damage from Hurricane Ida, according to Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. We received a message over the weekend noting,
Due to damage from Hurrican Ida, the Manayunk Canal Tow Path will remain closed. The portion of the Schuylkill River Trail between Lock Street and Shawmont Avenue is closed indefinitely while storm damage is assessed and safe conditions are restored.
When those conditions will be restored, we don’t know yet. We are also working on a list of all spots along the SRT that are passable for people on bicycles and pedestrians.
