Due to CSX track work, the Race and Locust Street entrances to the Schuylkill River Trail will be closed for two weeks, starting Monday, June 8th.
From the Streets Department:
“Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced today that CSX will be closing both the Locust St and Race St access gates to the Schuylkill River Trail for two weeks starting Monday, June 8.
CSX will be doing track work in the area and will need to remove the crossing material to complete the work.
For safety reasons, the gates must remain closed 24 hours per day until the crossings are restored. Access to the trail can be made using the pedestrian bridge adjacent to the Locust St crossing gates or the stairs off of the Walnut St Bridge (not ADA accessible).
