Interested in participating in the feasibility study for the Lower Poquessing Creek Trail? Right now, the existing Poquessing Creek Trail begins at Junod Playground in the Parkwood neighborhood with connections to nearby streets like Mechanicsville and McNulty Roads. The trail continues along the Poquessing Valley Park and connects to Richlieu Road in Bensalem Township. This trail measures at 1.8 miles. Now there’s an opportunity to provide your feedback on the 4.3 miles of proposed trail to Glen Foerd on the Delaware River.
The Philadelphia Planning Commission, the Parks and Recreation Department and Michael Baker International have recently announced that they are leading a series of public meetings to take the plan for Lower Poquessing Creek Trail from concept to design.
There are a few ways you can help the City identify the optimal trail alignment and trailheads. The City is interested in hearing input from local residents, business owners and community groups to help them identify challenges along the way by participating in the upcoming public meeting this Thursday, September 30th from 6 to 7:30 PM. Additionally, you can make comments on this interactive map of the project area.
