World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and Families for Safe Streets Greater Philadelphia are working together to put on 2020’s World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on Sunday, November 15. An international event, World Day of Remembrance has been put together to remember traffic victims over the past year, and discuss how we can make all roads safer.

This year, so far, as been an incredibly pressing one. With the pandemic taking over 2020, fewer vehicles on the roads has meant greater speeds and, unfortunately, many more traffic victims than in years’ past. As we wrote on our blog , 120 people have been killed in traffic in Philadelphia in 2020, the most in 23 years.

Programming is still being organized, but the event will be online and will feature members of Families for Safe Streets Greater Philadelphia. The speakers will talk about their many accomplishments in making streets safer in Philadelphia, and the many changes that still need to come.
