[Partner Event] John Lewis Remembrance Day Voter Registration Rides & Celebration

Join Cycle to Vote and John Lewis’ fraternity Phi Beta Sigma for voter registration and rally rides as part of John Lewis Remembrance Day. The day will celebrate and honor the values that former US House Representative John Lewis stood for and dedicated his life to—inclusion, voter rights, and social justice.

Multiple voter registration rides — all departing from the same start location of the new Boxers’ Trailhead in Fairmount Park on the morning of October 10th — will fan out into neighborhoods in the city where voter registration has historically been low. Please bring a helmet and a mask, as you’ll be interacting with folks to encourage voter registration. Each ride will be capped at 8 riders (plus 2 ride leaders) for COVID-19 safety purposes.

There will also be a Rally Ride for cyclists who would prefer to ride a loop around the city generating momentum and excitement about voting!  This will also depart and return to Boxers’ Trail head in the Strawberry Mansion section of Fairmount Park.

The day will culminate in celebration and remembrance of John Lewis, with more voter registration and information distribution, remarks from prominent Philadelphians, live music, and a Keynote address by Reverend Allyn Waller of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church.

RSVP here to check out the route options and reserve your spot for your chosen ride.

To get a Cycle to Vote t-shirt with the voter registration website QR codes on the back, make a $15 suggested contribution through the Cycle to Vote GoFundMe and take your receipt to either High Point Cafe location in Mt Airy. Otherwise, contact cycletovote@gmail.com to arrange to get shirts.
