Cadence Cycling and Multisport welcomes beginning cyclists, serious triathletes, and every bike enthusiast no matter their ability. Focused on customer service that goes beyond expectations, Cadence provides its members with a full training setup, including a range of personal coaching, physiological testing, and mechanical services.
Devoted to the biking community, Cadence sets itself apart with world class services and staff. Opened in 2004 at 5000 Ridge Avenue, the Manayunk shop provides indoor training sessions, as well as an array of seasonal camps and clinics that cover any cyclist’s needs, including road racing basics, maintenance skills, mountain biking, and cyclocross clinics.
Cadence offers several personalized coaching packages for not only cyclists but runners, swimmers, and triathletes as well. The shop’s coaching staff has worked with professional teams like Team Fuji and Discovery, and Cadence is the preferred coaching organizations for the US Marine Corps’ All-Marine Running and Triathlon Teams.
Alongside an impressive track record, Cadence also helped start the Coalition’s Cadence Youth Cycling (CYC) program that works to help underserved youth gain skills in leadership and independence through cycling.
CYC began officially in 2007 when Ryan Oelkers and Cadence shop owner Jay Snider wanted to create a junior cycling program. After learning more about the challenges underserved kids face, the program shifted focus to providing skills and education to kids who may otherwise never receive it. In 2013, the program officially broke away from the bike shop and became one of the Coalition’s educational programs. CYC now has 7 teams throughout schools in Philadelphia that impact over 100 students.
Cadence Youth Cycling is now Bicycle Coalition Youth Cycling. Click here to learn more about the recent changes, and click here to donate.
