A 19-year-old bicyclist was killed in Philadelphia’s Olney section by a hit-and-run driver in a 2006 2-door Honda Civic, according to police reports.
The cyclist, Lorenzo Velazquez, was headed north on the C Street recently-striped buffered bike lane before midnight on Thursday and hit at the intersection of Ashdale Street.
The impact knocked the bicyclist off his bike, and the bike was dragged about 100 feet.
Police say they recovered the grille of the White Honda Civic and are asking anyone who has information to bring it to the police department. Look out for a Honda Civic with a dented hood, cracked windshield, and without a grille.
Update 2:30 PM – The vehicle has been recovered and a person of interest has been questioned. Currently no charges have been filed.
