By now, you’ve likely heard about the death of Peter Javsicas, former Executive Director of PenTrans. Peter Javsicas was a friend and member of the Bicycle Coalition and a long-time advocate for multi-modal transportation in Philadelphia.
The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is currently working with Peter’s family to fix JFK Boulevard according to simple recommendations that were made years ago, in this email campaign to Council President Darrell Clarke and his staff.
His family is hosting a memorial service for him on July 1 at the Germantown Monthly Meeting Society of Friends on July 1 at 2pm. You can RSVP here.
Additionally, Peter’s family has asked that those who would like to honor Peter may make a donation to the Bicycle Coalition in his memory. You may do so by making an online donation or sending a check to:

So sad, I hadn’t seen him for years but we kept occasionally in touch by social media. We were on the track team together at Columbia. He was a great distance runner.
He will be missed.
