With citywide street cleanup events happing all summer long, it’s important to not forget about the conditions of the area’s rivers. On Tuesday May 3rd, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia will join with local outdoor lifestyle company United By Blue for a cleanup of Penn Treaty Park at 1341 N. Delaware Avenue.

This event is in partnership with the Philadelphia Water Department, The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, Barcade, and The Living Room Café.

This follows another cleanup the company organized on April 19th at the newly redesigned Pier 68 in South Philadelphia.

United By Blue is a Philadelphia based coffee and clothier shop with four stores spread throughout the area, including New Jersey. Besides being a retailer of fashionable clothing, bags, camping gear, home accessories and the like, they are also an organization dedicated to the protection and health of the world’s oceans and waterways.

The May 3rd cleanup at Penn Treaty Park will happen between 5pm and 7pm. Snacks and cleanup supplies will be provided. Once the job is done, volunteers who are feeling thirsty and have the need to play some video games, Barcade is a quick walk or ride from the park and will be hosting a late happy hour for those who participated.
