A robust, user-friendly transportation system plus safe, well-maintained streets are important components of age-friendly communities. They are also critical to the economic health of metropolitan regions like Greater Philadelphia.
On Wednesday, December 8th at 1:30pm, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and AARP-Pennsylvania will host regional experts who discuss how a sustainable and safe transportation network and transit system brings economic benefits to employers and commerce.
As new federal dollars start to flow to Greater Philadelphia as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, this topic remains particularly relevant. Because transportation is a key pillar of AARP-Philadelphia’s Livable Communities campaign, AARP is sponsoring this panel to have a public dialogue about the potential for a stronger, safer and more sustainable transportation and transit networks to benefit the region’s economy.
