Elyssa Kane

Manager of Individual Giving

Kieran

Cycling has been an enduring joy and favorite activity since Elyssa asked for her training wheels to be removed.

Growing up at the New Jersey seashore, Elyssa contended routinely with head and tail winds but had no idea how to handle the hills and trolley tracks she encountered in Philadelphia. The seasoned cyclists she met through the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia helped her learn how to tackle the terrain and hazards. Since then, Elyssa has covered many miles throughout the PA, DE and NJ region and numerous other states on her trusty touring bike. Nowadays, she rides on weekends and vacations. Her college-aged daughter and son are delighted to leave their parents in the dust.

Elyssa has secured financial resources for social service, arts and culture, and community development organizations over the past 24 years. Her multifaceted experience in resource development spans grants, annual appeals, membership, events, sponsorship and major gifts. She earned a BA in art history from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Georgetown University where she focused on Marketing and Nonprofit Management.

Apart from cycling, Elyssa swims year round for fitness, enjoys novels, live theater and concerts, and experiments in the kitchen. She currently resides in Ardmore where she walks to catch the train downtown.
