Development & Communications Manager
Amanda is a daily bicycle commuter (and newbie-ish montain biker!) in Philadelphia where she has lived with a rotating group of friends for the past 10 years.
She attended the University of Pennsylvania and earned a BA in Health and Societies and English, and a Masters in Urban Studies with a focus in oral history. She’s worked with nonprofits and community groups focused on youth development, racial/economic/environmental/food justice, and urban agriculture.
Her rural Western PA roots combined with her adult life in Philadelphia have allowed her to understand the wide variety of things that bike riding can mean to different communities across very different geographical spaces. She’s excited to be putting her energy toward the Bicycle Coalition’s work of expanding not just the accessibility of bicycling, but the accessibility of all forms of active, equitable and environmentally sustainable transportation.
