Bicycle Coalition Staff » AMANDA
Amanda is a bike commuter, mountain biker & gravel fan. She has lived in Philly with a rotating group of friends for the past 11 years.
She attended the University of Pennsylvania and studied Health and Societies and English, then Urban Studies with a focus in Oral History. She’s worked with nonprofits and community groups focused on youth development, urban agriculture, and racial, economic, environmental, and food justice.
Her rural Western PA roots combined with her adult life in Philadelphia have allowed her to understand the wide variety of things that bike riding can mean to different communities across different geographic and cultural spaces. She’s excited to be putting her energy toward the Bicycle Coalition’s work of expanding not just the accessibility of bike riding, but the accessibility of all forms of environmentally sustainable transportation.
