DANIEL J. HILFERTY
CEO, Independence Blue Cross
Daniel J. Hilferty is chief executive officer of Independence Health Group, parent of Independence Blue Cross, one of the nation’s leading health insurers. Since Mr. Hilferty became CEO in 2010, the company has tripled in size, expanding through its affiliates to 26 states and the District of Columbia, and serving nearly 8 million people nationwide.
Mr. Hilferty’s vision for Independence is to lead the transformation of health care, seeking innovative technologies and new models of care that will increase the quality and lower the cost of care. He led the creation of the Independence Blue Cross Center for Innovation; launched Tandigm Health, a unique venture that arms primary care physicians with the tools and data needed to better manage chronic conditions; and established Quil, a joint venture with Comcast NBCUniversal to revolutionize the consumer health care experience.
Mr. Hilferty is the chairman of the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. He serves on the executive committee of America’s Health Insurance Plans and is the immediate past chairman of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

Former PA State Representative
John Taylor was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia. He was first elected to the PA House of Representatives in 1985 and was reelected to serve 16 more consecutive terms. He will be presented with the Vision Zero Award by founding member of Families for Safe Streets Greater Philadelphia Latanya Byrd for his leadership in passing enabling legislation for speed cameras on Roosevelt Boulevard, the Commonwealth’s most dangerous roadway.

Past Board Chair of the Bicycle Coalition
In addition to serving as Board Chair of the Bicycle Coalition for seven years, Leslye is a nationally recognized educator, author, and speaker. She is receiving the Special Service Award from our Board Chair Ed Chang for her youth development efforts and overseeing the merger between the Bicycle Coalition and Cadence Cycling Foundation in 2013 which created our current youth cycling program, BCYC.
BCYC Athlete of the Year Award
Former Board Chair Leslye Silver will present the first ever BCYC Athlete of the Year Award to a student athlete who has demonstrated above and beyond commitment, leadership, and personal growth.
