There are plenty of ways to celebrate Bike Month 2021 around the region too! Check out these virtual / hybrid / in-person events organized by our county affiliates and partners:
Bike to work anywhere in Delco, snap a pic and tag @DelcoTMA on FB and/or @DC_TMA on Twitter with the hashtag #bikedelco to be entered to win a $50 Wawa gift card. From 8am to 10am, you can also visit Delco TMA at the County Courthouse Lawn in Media to get recent info on local trails, giveaways, and a demo of a new routing app
On Saturday, May 22 at 9am, join Bike Montgomery County for a ~2 hour guided ride through a section of the Cross-County Trail, which (when completed) will span 17.5 miles, connecting the Schuylkill River Trail, the Wissahickon Trail, the Powerline Trail, and the Pennypack Trail. Upper Dublin Township has been very proactive in completing sections of this trail, with construction currently taking place along Commerce Ave. The CCT within Upper Dublin will eventually connect SEPTA’s Fort Washington station with the commercial district of Virginia Drive, along with numerous parks, schools, and the public library.
Head to Philly proper for the Bike Wherever Week Scavenger Hunt that’ll have you solving clues and adventuring to parks, public art and local businesses. Registration is free and you can sign up solo or with a team of up to 6 people
We wanna see how many days on the bike we can log together as a team! Add your name to the Bike Month Star Chart and start earning stars for every day you ride. Any and all short/long/indoor/outdoor/fast/slow bike time counts — as long as you get on your bike, you earn a star for the day. Folks who add a star to the chart every day in May will be entered to win a 1-year (new or renewed) membership to the Bicycle Coalition + our 2021 t-shirt
