Memorial Bike Ride for Kevin Saint Clair & Cyclists Killed in Philadelphia
Please join us this Sunday, November 19th, for a memorial bike ride for Kevin Saint Clair and the nine other cyclists whose lives were lost to traffic violence this year. We will bike as a group from Salvatore Pachella Field (6839 Henry Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19128) to the Lil’ Philly Safety Village in Hunting Park, where riders will converge on the National Day of Remembrance gathering. This will be a slow-paced group ride.
On Monday, November 6th, Kevin Saint Clair was the 10th person riding a bicycle who was hit and killed by a car in Philadelphia this year. As a Masterman teacher, coach, and competitive cyclist, he graced the lives of those who were lucky enough to call him a friend and colleague, and we at the Bicycle Coalition send our deepest sympathies to his family and the Masterman community during this difficult time.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Philadelphians have for far too long had to endure the tragic deaths of their loved ones, friends, and neighbors. In 2022 alone, 124 people lost their lives to traffic violence in Philadelphia. These deaths are unacceptable and completely avoidable.
Meet up: 11:00AM
Ride out: 11:15AM
The ride will occur rain or shine. Please make sure to bring a helmet and any other safety gear you may need. Register to attend here.
If you are interested in marshaling the ride, please contact Sonja Bontrager.
