We’re thrilled to bring you closer to the heart of BCYC’s transformative journey with our Youth Advisory Council (YAC).
Made up of five individuals from different schools, these young leaders have impressed us with their strong commitment to BCYC and their emerging leadership skills. As we navigate through 10 virtual sessions from October 28th to February 14th, our goal is to enrich their knowledge, and transform them into dynamic leaders.
In this midway checkpoint through the development series, the growth and commitment of these young leaders are nothing short of inspiring. They have embraced topics ranging from effective communication to community event organizing, each session providing a unique layer to their leadership journey.
And speaking of layers, let’s dive into the reflections of two YAC members who are adding depth and color to the canvas of this transformative experience.
Testimonials from YAC Members:
Anthony Paris: “My journey with YAC has been a blend of education and professionalism. The environment is not only welcoming but also understanding, enhancing my overall learning experience.”
Mamady Toure: “The online YAC meetings serve as a canvas to improve various aspects of my skill set. They offer a chance to develop leadership skills and connect with other members. Although I’m not a fan of staying in one place for an hour, I know I’ll leave each session with a new skill under my belt.”
Stay tuned for more updates on this incredible journey, and let’s continue pedaling together towards a brighter future!
The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia leads the movement to make every bicycle ride safe, to empower youth and adults to ride, and to foster a ridership that reflects the diversity of the region. Right now the Bicycle Coalition is asking 700 folks to join or renew their support for another year to continue that advocacy and education work. More info here.
