If you haven’t had the chance to experience the pop-up protected bike lane in Narberth, the upcoming holiday weekend is your last chance to ride it, walk it, and provide feedback with this survey.
The Wheels on Windsor pilot hosted by Narberth Cycling Club and Narberth Borough will be wrapping up the 10-day pilot on November 30th.
In addition to the survey, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission is collecting data along Windsor Avenue, spanning the two block project area from Forrest Avenue to Grayling Avenue in order to reach its list of goals.
By being a part of this new pilot, residents and visitors who gave this project a test run will be helping out Narberth Borough and the biking network in a big way. Below is a list of goals the pilot can achieve with enough participation and feedback:
- Engage community in dialogue about larger bicycle network goals and plans.
- Allow community a chance to bike the test facility and/or experience it as a pedestrian or motorist.
- Provide temporary conditions for Narberth Fire Co. and SEPTA vehicles to test cross section/lane width.
- Evaluate vehicular queue lengths and delay caused by removing the left turn lane from Windsor onto Narberth Avenue.
- Test impact of on-street parking removal on these blocks of Windsor Ave.
So grab your bike and be a part of Wheels on Windsor before it’s too late! Also, A friendly reminder when riding the pop-up protected bike lane to wear a face mask and maintain at least 6′ of separation from others. Most importantly, have fun and invite family or a friend when visiting to help reach the pilot’s goals.
