The 2025 National Bike Summit will take place in-person in Washington, DC, from Tuesday, March 11, through Thursday, March 13, 2025. The Summit will begin on Tuesday with workshops and breakout sessions, an opening plenary and keynote, and an evening awards reception. Most importantly, Lobby Day will take place on Wednesday, March 12. For those interested in joining either the Pennsylvania or New Jersey delegations and meeting with congressional staff for your district and senators, we encourage you to attend Lobby Day at the congressional offices on Capitol Hill.
With new leadership in Washington, new priorities are being set and federal spending—including critical funding for active transportation—is under review. This is our opportunity to have a strong presence on Capitol Hill to share your story with your elected officials and how federal funding for a safe active transportation network in your community is critical to the future of the region. The League of American Bicyclists has shared that there will be a number of asks that will be discussed with your congressional staff from delegation members’ districts and senators including safety improvements for biking and walking infrastructure squarely in the realm of federal responsibility, the economic benefits to your community and other transportation benefits, and the health and quality of life improvements that an active transportation network brings to the region as a whole.
If you’re available and interested in joining the summit, be sure to review the League’s website for general information about the National Bike Summit and the many components it has to offer attendees. Registration for the summit can be accessed here. Additionally, if you have interest in attending lobby day, please contact Patrick Monahan at patrick@bicyclecoalition.org as we are in the process of coordinating meetings with members of congress and state senators for Wednesday, March 12th.
The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia leads the movement to make every bicycle ride safe, to empower youth and adults to ride, and to foster a ridership that reflects the diversity of the region. Join or renew to continue that advocacy and education work throughout the region. More info here.
