When Bike Share is introduced to Philadelphia later this year, one-third of the stations are going to be in low-income neighborhoods outside of Center City—and Philadelphia Neighborhoods, a publication of Temple University’s multimedia urban reporting lab, recently created the below video to better explain how the city is bringing a station to the Mantua area.

Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia staff member Azephra Hamilton spoke to Philadelphia Neighborhoods about her work on bringing a bike share station to the West Philly neighborhood.

“When bike share comes to Philadelphia, it’s going to provide another option for public transportation to the residents of Philadelphia, so they’ll have have a different way to get to work, to events that they want to go to,” she says.

Also interviewed: several community members who are working to make bike share a success in Mantua.
