The NJ Bike and Walk Coalition will host the 14th Annual New Jersey Bike and Walk Summit, set to take place on the Princeton University campus on Saturday, March 29th, just a day after Philadelphia Vision Zero Conference. Tickets are available now.

Despite uncertainties at the federal level, New Jersey is making strides in state-level initiatives. In March the newly minted Target Zero Commission will meet for the first time and begin work identifying the high-injury network and developing a safety action plan. The Governor’s race will be in full swing for the June Primary only only one of the dozen declared candidates only one candidate has so far published a position on active transportation. Additionally, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is legally required to update its Complete Streets policy to include design practices for neurodivergent people.Princeton University has banned e-scooters and e-bikes from its internal path network. These topics will likely be addressed at the Summit.

The event planners are considering adding mobile workshops to explore new infrastructure around Princeton, so attendees won’t be confined to the building all day. Princeton is easily accessible via Amtrak or NJ TRANSIT, although the Dinky Shuttle Train to downtown Princeton isn’t synchronized with northbound NJ TRANSIT trains. You can also bike to the Summit from Princeton Junction Station via Washington Rd, which now features a short stretch of delineated bike lanes.
