Get ready to pedal through the picturesque landscapes of Philadelphia as we host the first-ever Philly Gran Fondo — “Roll Wit It” celebrating the scenic beauty of the Schuylkill River, rolling hills, and the unique culinary traditions of the region!

Join us September 14th for an exhilarating ride that begins and ends at Sedgley Porter House, the proud home of the Bicycle Coalition Youth Cycling (BCYC) program. This event is a fundraiser aimed at supporting BCYC youth athletes.

The routes, named after Philadelphia’s iconic cheesesteak sandwiches, offer varying levels of challenge just as the sandwiches offer varying toppings and styles! The options are:

  1. The Whiz — A short, out-and-back route of around 15 miles. Perfect for beginners and those looking for a relaxed ride.
  2. The Whiz Wit — A challenging 35-mile ride through local terrain, with a pit stops to refresh and refuel.
  3. The Works — The ultimate challenge, combining routes with extra timed segments, covering approximately 75 miles roundtrip. This option is ideal for seasoned cyclists looking to push their limits. There will be 2 pit stops along the way to refuel at your convenience!

After the ride, stick around for a fantastic family-friendly yard party! There will be an MTB test course, engaging games, lively music, and delicious food and drinks. It’s a perfect way to unwind and celebrate your achievement with fellow cyclists and supporters.

By participating in the Philly Gran Fondo, you are contributing to a worthy cause. All proceeds from the event will go towards the BCYC program and equipment, helping young athletes achieve their cycling dreams and allowing us to keep our programming free to our athletes!

Mark your calendars and stay tuned for updates to secure your spot in this inaugural event. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, the Philly Gran Fondo offers something for everyone. We can’t wait to see you there!
