The Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic is coming to Manayunk on June 1st. Before the pros tackle the Wall, there are two opportunities to geek out on professional cycling.

Women’s Pro Cycling Reception – Saturday May 31st

The day before the Philly Cycling Classic, we’re hosting some of the professional women’s racers for a reception at Cadence Cycling & Multisport in Manayunk. Join us for a panel discussion with the racers you’ll be cheering for on Sunday, a Q&A session, and coffee and light fare. Special guest Lisa Nutter will be on hand to share her own bike racing experience (who knew?!?).

Saturday, May 31
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Cadence Cycling & Multisport – 4323 Main St, Manayunk.
Ample indoor bike parking available

There are two ways to get a ticket to this event:

  1. Registration for the Velothon includes admission to this event if you specify the Bicycle Coalition as “your team/club” during registration.
  2. Buy a $10 ticket directly for this event online.

The reception is sponsored by the Women’s Cycling Association, Fuji Bikes, our Women Bike PHL program, and the Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic.

Pit Yourself Against the Wall – The Velothon Arrives June 1st

Do you have a need…a need for speed? Or at least a need for exhilarating bike rides through Philadelphia? The Velothon is happening before the real race June 1st, and there is no other bike ride like it.

The Velothon is the ride before the women’s professional race kicks off on that Sunday morning. Members of the public can ride the entire closed race course (plus some), then enjoy food and drink with post-race VIP hospitality at Lemon Hill while you watch the professional race. The details:

  • June 1, 2014 – 6:45 AM
  • $79 registration
  • An exciting, new global amateur event sanctioned by the UCI.
  • 45 kilometer ride on closed roads passing some of Philadelphia’s great neighborhoods and landmarks.
  • Fully timed, competitive & non-competitive waves.

When you register, if you put the Bicycle Coalition down as your “team/club,” $20 of your registration will be donated to support our work!
