Hello, my name is Stephen Bronskill and I am excited to join the team at Transit Forward Philadelphia. I got my start as a public school teacher where I met students who were much smarter than I’ll ever be but faced barriers that made their success in school and life more difficult than it should have been. I became an organizer because I believe that young people and their families deserve every opportunity to reach their goals. Ensuring the freedom to travel with reliable, safe, and affordable transportation is a critical way to do this.

I have worked on campaigns in Pennsylvania and across the country but cannot think of a fight more important than the one we are facing now to save SEPTA. Public transit is a lifeline for 800,000 daily riders traveling to work, school, appointments and more.

It also makes Philly special. There is nothing better than riding a train with fellow Philly sports fans down to the stadium, traveling through Clark Park on the trolley, and seeing a new neighborhood out the window of a bus.

Beyond work, I love riding my bike in Philly and volunteering at local organizations. I am in my 4th season as a BCYC Coach and am excited for students in our programs to become leaders in our city.

Making our transit system more accessible and sustainable will take all of us working together. I look forward to connecting with you and working on behalf of the buses, trains, trolleys, and city we love. You can reach Stephen at stephen@transitforwardphilly.org

Stephen joined 5th Square volunteers to canvass regional rail riders on the Trenton line.

“Talking with commuters on an early morning before coffee may seem tough but I was blown away by the response of SEPTA riders on the Trenton line. Nearly every person that we talked with on their morning commute pledged to write or call their representative and share with their friends. Many riders were hearing about SEPTA cuts for the first time and were eager to take action. If this is your first time getting involved, don’t worry! Canvassing is easy, fun, and we’ll provide all the materials. We need all hands on deck the next seven weeks and hope you can join us soon!
