After a robust public engagement during 2020 for the Spring Garden Street Connector, the public stated unequivocally that it wants to see a much safer, more beautiful Spring Garden Street, especially for people walking, biking and using the sidewalks — an overwhelming 89 percent of respondents favored curbside protected bike lanes. In response, the Circuit Trails Philadelphia Action Team developed a petition in 2021 to make the Spring Garden Street Greenway top priority and seek federal funding for the remaining stages of design and construction in order to complete it by 2025. That petition garnered 1300 signatures in favor of the City seeking funding.

All are welcome to learn the news from private and public funders, community champions and elected officials who will be celebrating the vision of the Spring Garden Street Connector as a redesigned complete street, which will serve as a major segment of the Circuit Trails and East Coast Greenway.
