The 2026 National Bike Summit will take place in-person in Washington, DC, from Tuesday, March 24, through Thursday, March 26, 2026. The Summit will begin with an opening plenary, state meetings, and an evening reception. On Wednesday, March 25, participants will take part in Lobby Day to meet with their representatives in Congress. We’ll celebrate with an evening reception on Capitol Hill. Conference plenaries and sessions will resume on the morning of Thursday, March 26, with mobile workshops, breakout sessions, and inspiring plenary speakers. For those interested in joining either the Pennsylvania or New Jersey delegations and meeting with congressional staff for your district and senators, we encourage you to attend Lobby Day at the congressional offices on Capitol Hill.
As funding for active transportation is continually under review, the opportunity to have a strong presence on Capitol Hill to share your story with your elected officials and how federal funding for a safe active transportation network in your community is critical to the future of the region. The League of American Bicyclists has shared that there will be a number of asks that will be discussed with your congressional staff from delegation members’ districts and senators including safety improvements for biking and walking infrastructure squarely in the realm of federal responsibility, the economic benefits to your community and other transportation benefits, and the health and quality of life improvements that an active transportation network brings to the region as a whole.
