In case you haven’t heard yet: The Bicycle Coalition is hosting a benefit show at Johnny Brenda’s during our Member Drive that runs throughout March.
The benefit show, held at the Fishtown bar and restaurant, features Kate Crutchfield’s solo project Waxahatchee, along with Julie Byrne and Mary Lattimore opening up the gig.
Crutchfield’s solo name references the Alabama Waxahatchee River around where she grew up, and upon which she later drew inspiration for her indie folk sound. Waxahatchee began in 2010, releasing its debut album American Weekend in 2012, written and recorded in a week at Crutchfield’s childhood home in Birmingham.
Tickets for the event, sponsored by Lagunitas Beer, should still be available here, although it may have sold out by the time you read this. Lagunitas will be taking over the taps for the event.
For those in attendance, please note that $1 of each pint of Lagunitas bought at the show will be donated to the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. So, if you can make it, drink up (but not too much!); it’s for a good cause.
