Recently, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia held its Southern New Jersey Town Hall at the beautiful Edelman Fossil Park & Museum of Rowan University in Gloucester County to discuss the Coalition’s policy work to advance bicycle safety in New Jersey, the Circuit Trails and how to get involved. The Coalition was joined by Nick Cressman, Senior Planner with Gloucester County’s Planning Division, Patrick McDevitt, Affiliate Chair with Bike Gloucester County and special guests joined with the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition and owner of Action Wheels Bike Shop to support the event.

For the latest developments of Circuit Trails development and project timeline in Gloucester County, the Gloucester County Multi-Purpose Trails Active Projects presentation provided by Nick Cressman can be reviewed for details covering the Glassboro Elk Trail, Harrison Trail and Dinosaur Trail throughout the county. In Camden County, the Coalition received the LINK Trail Status Report provided by the County that includes two segments and two bridges of the LINK. Lastly, we heard from Patrick McDevitt, the Bike Gloucester County Affiliate Chair who presented on the latest actions that include hosting rides, connecting municipal and county staff members, networking with local bike shops and cycling groups, promotion for the NJ Safe Passing Law and providing support by advocating for the Circuit Trails in Gloucester County. On the other side of the Delaware River, the Bicycle Coalition held its Southeastern PA Town Hall meeting at iThrive in Wyncote, Montgomery County. An upcoming opportunity following the town hall meeting includes the 2nd Abington Separated Bike Lanes Action Plan public meeting that will be held on Wednesday, October 29th from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Abington Municipal Building for residents who are interested in learning more.
