We recently held our 65th Annual Christmas Basket give-away that serves under-resourced families and individuals in the Kennett area that reside within the boundaries of the Kennett Consolidated and Unionville- Chadds Ford Schools Districts. In total, 550 households were served, receiving the bicycles, toys, winter coats and 35lbs boxes of food that included all the trimmings for a holiday meal as well as staples like flour, sugar and butter.
Most of the folks are participants in our Kennett Food Cupboard program, but we also work collaboratively to coordinate the distribution with 10 local agencies that serve families that may not be part of the KACS participant base and to minimize duplication of service.
