A FESTIVE EVENING

GALA & AWARDS

Join us for our Annual Gala & Awards Dinner on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 5:30 to 9:00pm, at The Ridgeland Mansion in West Fairmount Park, our biggest fundraiser of the year.

As always, the evening will culminate with an introduction to the BCYC Athlete of the Year followed by Central High’s very own Dr. Keith Leaphart, accepting the Maguire Award for his impact in our community in education, fitness, and youth development.

It’s a celebration you won’t want to miss — an elegant evening of cocktails, three course plated dinner, award ceremony, and silent & live auctions featuring unique cycling opportunities, bikes, gear, and surprises!

LOCATION: The picturesque The Ridgeland Mansion in West Fairmount Park (4100 Chamounix Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19131) is easily accessible by bicycle and has parking on-site. Please note that the Gala is held in the venue’s modern marquee tent, which blends the best of both the gorgeous outdoor setting and indoor comfort.

TICKETS: Ticket sales have closed, but you can still show your support: Make a gift in honor.

MORE ABOUT OUR HONOREES:

This year’s Maguire Honoree is physician, entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. Keith Leaphart. Dr. Leaphart balances numerous roles, including as staff relief physician for Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital, owner of Replica Global, LLC, a print firm that offers boutique creative services, and chairman of Philanthropi, the first full-service philanthropy fintech firm designed to match charities with individual givers. He has served as a member, and later chair, of the Lenfest Foundation where he oversaw the distribution of over $300 million to Philadelphia-based nonprofit organizations for over ten years. The Lenfest Foundation supported BCYC for 8 years between 2014 and 2022.

The 2023 Gala will be our last chance to celebrate the tenure of Sarah Clark Stuart, whose leadership has grown the Coalition into what it is today. Ryan Oelkers, our youth cycling program founder, will be presented with the BCYC Award in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of this program under the Coalition’s umbrella. Special tributes will also be paid to the Wednesday Night Rides crew and to our Connect the Circuit awardees, Christine ReutherElaine Paul Schaefer, and we will introduce Daa’mir Speight-Taylor, the BCYC Athlete of the Year.

Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor Brandywine Realty Trust. Their CEO Gerard (Jerry) Sweeney will be joining our host committee along with Max Berger, Amy Branch & Jeff Benoliel, Jeff Braff & Hope Comisky, Ed Chang & Bonnie Chong, Gretchen & Gordon Cooney, Pat Cunnane & Madeleine Dean, Jason & Angela Duckworth, Anne Gordon & Phil Berman, La-Toya & Otis Hackney, Jerry & Julie Jacobs, Gail & Sandy Lipstein, Rep.
