Bike Valet at Philly Bike Expo

The Philly Bike Expo is coming up on November 2nd and 3rd! But do you know who your ride buddies will be to help you celebrate this bike-centric weekend? Thankfully, the community has organized some very fun rides for you to join.

On Saturday morning, you can bike to the Philly Bike Expo with the Narberth Cycling Club. This nine-mile route will begin in the heart of downtown Narberth at Narberth Station Circle, and ends at Center City’s Convention Center. The ride begins at 8:45 AM. More details can be found on the Facebook event

If you’re feeling more adventurous, you can join the Urban Improv Ride, a freeform biking expedition that will bring riders up, down, and around the nooks and crannies of historic Central Philadelphia before arriving at the Philadelphia Bike Expo. This roughly 10-mile ride will meet at Amtrak’s 30th Street Station Main Info Booth on Saturday, November 2nd at 8:30 AM. The first ten attendees will score a free ticket to the Bike Expo and are eligible for deals from Trophy Bikes. A sturdy commuter, hybrid, or cyclocross bike is recommended (it is also “Brompton-friendly;” it’s hosted by Trophy, after all). Please bring headgear, lights, and a spare tube, and do make sure to inspect your bike’s nuts & bolts before setting off!

If you’re looking for an early morning pick-me-up before you start your ride, you can join up for the Coffee Outside PHL ride. The group will meet at 8am on Sunday, November 3rd at the South George’s Hill Picnic Area. Riders will enjoy coffee before heading out for a ten-mile ride that will bring riders through Belmont Plateau and Fairmount Park before arriving at the Convention Center (route here). Attendees are encouraged to bring their own mug or tumbler and any snacks they might want! 30mm tires or wider for this ride are recommended.

If you’re looking for a spirited-paced ride on Philadelphia’s trails, we recommend The BWB with Team PBE. This CX-forward ride will explore three of Philly’s greatest trail systems: Belmont, Wissahickon, and Boxer. The ride meets up on Sunday at 7:45am at Lloyd Hall.

No matter how you arrive to the Expo, you’ll be able to park your bike inside, as there is bike valet. Learn more about the Philly Bike Expo and buy tickets here (remember, Bicycle Coalition members receive a discount- check the latest Members Only email for the code!).
