The Bicycle Club of Philadelphia and The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia in cooperation with The Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, will be hosting National Ride Your Bike Day events on May 3 2025 from 10am to 2pm along the Schuylkill River Trail in Philadelphia.
On May 3 2025 from 10 am – 2 pm, tables will be staffed at the following locations in Philadelphia:
– #1 Boathouse Row/Kelly Drive and Waterworks Drive (Near Lloyd Hall and Cosmic Cafe)
– Kelly Drive and Falls Bridge
– Shamont St and Nixon St
– MLK Dr and Black Rd*
Information will be provided on safe cycling, scheduled group rides, other Bike Month events, Indego Bike Share, car-free MLK Drive, The Bicycle Club of Philadelphia, and The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.
Giveaway items (safety vests, etc) will be provided to riders while supplies last.
* League of American Bicyclists-certified Bike Safety Instructors will be stationed at the MLK Dr & Black Rd location, providing free bike safety instruction throughout the event.
Further, at Noon on May 3 2025, a Bicycle Ride for all ages and abilities will roll out from the Formal Entrance to the Azalea Garden (Waterworks Dr and Fountain of the Sea Horses/Italian Fountain – below the Philadelphia Museum of Art). The group will traverse car-free MLK Dr, Falls Bridge Recreational Path, and Kelly Dr Recreational Path to return. Total ride will be about 1.5 hours. Helmets are required. While there is no charge to ride, bikes and helmets are available for rent.
