Birding & Bikes! Explore the Circuit Group Ride

MAY 10: EXPLORE the Audubon Loop & Perkiomen Trails

Join us on World Migratory Bird Day for this exciting program where you’ll learn more about the incredible Circuit Trails system we have in our backyard and how efforts to connect green spaces and trails for people, can also reduce habitat fragmentation that negatively impacts birds, and improve ecosystem services like clean air and water for us all.

We’ll start things off with a presentation discussing the latest plans for trail expansion that supports a growing “active transportation network.” Then we’ll talk more about the role of birds as indicators of environmental health, the benefits birds, and particularly bird song, bring to spending time outdoors, and how you can support state and local policies that enhance connectivity between habitat, preserve natural resources, protect birds, and improve public health.

Following the presentation, we’ll head out on a biking tour of the Audubon Loop Trail and the Perkiomen Trail led by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.

Event Schedule:
1:00pm – 2:00pm: Presentation
2:00pm – 2:30pm: Gather for tours
2:30: Biking tour begins
4:00pm: Estimated end time for event

Details on program logistics, what to wear/bring, etc. will be provided once registered. Light refreshments and bike racks will be available onsite.

This program is being brought to you in partnership with Audubon Mid-Atlantic and the Circuit Trails Coalition. To learn more about Audubon Mid-Atlantic’s conservation work, visit https://pa.audubon.org/.
