We are thrilled to announce that Uma McGuire has been promoted to Communications and Community Engagement Manager here at the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia!
Uma came to us as a West Coast transplant and graduate of Bryn Mawr College, bringing with her a creative spirit and deep belief in the power of community. From the moment she joined us, her contagious energy, creativity, and commitment to inclusion have certainly been felt across our team and the Philadelphia cycling community.
Uma’s journey with BCGP began as an internship, and we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into an indispensable member of our team. As our Events & Communications Coordinator, she played a major role in elevating the BCGP event experience, bringing her promotional, logistical, and development expertise to influence how we show up for our community, while helping us to solidify our voice and messaging across the organization.

In her new role, Uma will lead our communications strategy across the organization on all platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and blogs, while also managing our volunteer program. She will continue to support signature events like Bike Month, Roll Wit It, and the Holiday Lights Ride.
The Bicycle Coalition began as an all-volunteer organization, and our volunteers are still a crucial part of our work. Uma is excited to reinvigorate our volunteer program so our community has more opportunities to bring their time, passion, and expertise to making biking safe and accessible to everyone in the region.
Want to get involved? Fill out the form and receive opportunities catered to your interest. Looking for a more dedicated volunteer service plan? Feel free to email Uma at uma@bicyclecoalition.org.
We couldn’t be more excited to see Uma step into this expanded role. Please join us in celebrating her as we look forward to her continued impactful contributions to BCGP!
